Susie McBurney is Chief Executive Officer of Evoro Group, bringing 25 years in waste management — including senior roles at two of the sector’s largest operators — to the task of building Australia’s most capable liquid and hazardous waste group. She leads a business formed from four established companies, Cleanway, Global Resource Recovery, EnviroChoice and Lee’s Environmental Services, with the national infrastructure of a major operator and the responsiveness of a specialist.
Her focus is on the part of the national waste task that is hardest to solve: the complex, high-risk streams the broader market isn’t equipped to handle, and the recovery infrastructure needed to divert them from landfill. Under her leadership, Evoro Group operates EPA-licensed facilities across four states, an in-house team of chemists and chemical engineers, and a recovery-first model anchored by the group’s flagship Laverton facility — the only operating site in Australia capable of recovering reusable product from waste glycol. It is work measured not in promises, but in tonnes treated, litres recovered and obligations met.
